I suppose if this thing is here, I might as well use it. I've got... far too many other journals, though, and consequently this will most likely be my only entry in here (the phrase being "most likely," as I may have art-related updates I might feel like filling you all [whoever you are o.O] in on. WOO!).
THAT HAVING BEEN SAID...

You already know my name, age, and some of the stuff I like, so I needn't reiterate any of that crap.

I suppose, though, that I'll start off with how I got into art...
Originally I'm a "traditional" artist- I prefer a pencil and paper to a mouse and a monitor. I started seriously drawing when I was in grade 4, back when I was obsessed (and no, I'm not ashamed to admit my inspiration ) with Sailor Moon. I've been drawing ever since then, and I think I've come quite the long way.
Due to the strong Japanese anime-style influence straight off the bat, most of my work is, obviously, anime-esque, you could call it. Lately, however, I've gotten into the habit of drawing real people... couldn't tell you why.
Oh, another thing to mention: The last art class I took was in grade 7, and I didn't even voluntarily sign up for it. I'm in the tail end of grade 12 now, so it's been 5 years since I've had "formal artistic training." I have a serious problem with people telling me what to draw or do (it must be the Irish in me, I have no idea...), so I haven't elected to take any art courses by myself.
And... hmm... OH, right, how I got started with Photoshop...
Well, I started off with Photosuite when I was... oh sheesh, what, 14? So about grade 8, and have been tooling around in various programs since. I landed myself with a copy of PS7 in grade 9, I think, and have been working in it since. I have no desire to get a newer version... it just has a whole bunch of crap that I wouldn't use. Simplicity is key to me, I guess. I dunno.
ANYWAY... I've been seriously designing in Photoshop for about four years, and I've done tons of graphic design work for websites and clients and all that jazz. I took a computer graphic design class in grade 11 (which turned out to be completely pointless, because the teacher was a twat and didn't know what the hell they were doing. I was the go-to for Photoshop help... it was baaad -.-) and have had a relatively wide local client-base since.

Hmmm, what else?
OH. All of the work that I post to this account is going to be the stuff I've made digitally. For some reason, I don't want to put my drawings up here... although that may change with time.
And another thing: most of what I have up here I created in leu of my high school's Senior Art Show, which I'm hopefully going to be accepted into and featured in. My judging appointment is on the 9th of this month, and the show itself opend on the 4th of May... we'll see how it goes.

Quite honestly I have a very small interest in art when it's compared to the passion I have for the martial arts or for massage therapy. I'm planning on attending a massage therapy school near Vancouver upon graduating high school (yeehaw to picking a college across the continent and in a different country!! WWWOOOO!!!), and my drive to do that is far greater than any art-related, pseudo-goal that I have. Hey, man, I'm just being honest.

And... I'm relatively sure I've covered the basic "THIS IS MEEE!" dravvle and have made you poor souls read for long enough, so without further prolongment, I bid you all a fond fairwell.
